The International crossing of lake Mégantic
The International crossing of lake Mégantic is a FINA (International Swimming Federation) 10-km Marathon Swimming World Cup festival with well-know artists on stage, musical fireworks, amusement park, family entertainment, and other surprises.
The event takes place at OTJ de Lac-Mégantic, 3293, rue Victoria, Lac-Mégantic.

1 KM, 2 KM AND 5 KM
The 1 km, 2 km and 5 km events are for swimmers from 11 years old and more from all levels who wants to measure up to themselves or to their friends. A loop specially fit out in front of the Parc de l’OTJ gives them the pleasures of swimming in open water in a highly secure environment.
Distance : 1 km, 2 km and 5 km
There is a classification by age group men and women. Medals are given to the three first positions in each category.
THE CANANDIAN ESPOIR CUP CARROSSIER PROCOLOR
The third stage of the Canadian Espoir Cup, presented as a part of the Traversée, is for swimmers from 14 to 26 years old who wants to be part of the circuit. A loop is fit out in front of the Parc de l’OTJ in order to allow visitors to experience the race from beginning to end.
Distance : 7 km
Purse: amount to be determined
There is a man and woman classification. Medals are awarded to the three first positions in each category. The swimmers collect points for the final classification of the Canadian Espoir Cup.
FINA/HOSA 10 KM SWIMMING MARATHON WORLD CUP
Since 2007, the Traversée has the 10KM open water event for men and women. This competition is a step of the 10 KM World Cup Swimming Marathon in open water FINA/HOSA. The race lasts about two hours. Participants leave from Piopolis Municipal Camping site and arrive on the event site at Parc de l’OTJ in Lac-Mégantic about two hours later.
